Odds slashed on former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to become next Celtic boss

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been out of work since he was sacked last December but is moving closer to landing a new job...at Celtic, according to bookmakers.

Mourinho has been making plenty of noise over the last few months since United replaced him with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , but that has mostly been down to his explosive appearances on beIN SPORTS.

In terms of his actual future, little has been spoken of it since a possible return to Real Madrid was ruled out following Zinedine Zidane's appointment.

But now the odds appear to suggest Mourinho's career path could take a strange twist with the Portuguese linked with Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

The SPL giants have been without a permanent boss since Brendan Rodgers left for Leicester City in February, with Neil Lennon taking temporary charge.

Lennon still tops the market for the next permanent Celtic boss but now Mourinho has had his odds dramatically slashed from 14/1 to 2/1 in the last few days, according to Oddschecker .

Belgium manager and former Everton boss Roberto Martinez has shortened to 7/1 behind Mourinho.

Meanwhile, the former United and Chelsea manager remains the favourite to take over at Paris Saint-Germain at 11/8 as pressure continues to mount on Thomas Tuchel following another poor campaign in Europe.
