I can personally write a novel on how good WWE wrestler Oba Femi is, and how he has the potential to become one of the pro wrestling company’s top stars in the future. “The Ruler” has all of the predictors for success — he’s big, oozes charisma, and has a great look that stands out. There’s still some work that has to be done from an in-ring perspective, but overall, Oba Femi has the “It” factor. This is why it’s no surprise to me that out of all male NXT wrestlers, WWE 2K25 players have chosen him more than anyone else.
Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Oba Femi earned a scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University for his skill in the shot put. Eventually, Femi — whose real name is Isaac Odugbesan — transferred to the University of Alabama, where he won the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2021 and 2022. After his collegiate shot putting career was done, Femi signed with WWE. And despite only being in the business for just over two years, he’s already emerged as a top talent, winning the North American and NXT championships.
If You’re A Universe Mode Player, Oba Femi Should Immediately Be Pushed
While most diehard WWE fans are well aware of his massive potential as a future world champion, Oba Femi has yet to receive the call-up to WWE’s main roster. But that’s OK, because if you play WWE 2K25 Universe Mode, you have the opportunity to give him the call-up yourself and book his inevitable ascent to the top of the card.
While booking the 6’6″, 310-pounder’s main roster debut in the Royal Rumble may seem a tempting proposition, I’d personally wait until the Raw after WrestleMania to give Oba Femi his call-up. Personally, I’d immediately give him the Gunther treatment — throw him into the Intercontinental/United States Championship picture, have him eventually win it, and give him a year-plus reign with the midcard title. This will turn him from a hot prospect into a bona fide threat on the main roster. You an try to book him as a heel, but as we’ve seen on NXT television, it’s going to be extremely difficult for the crowd to hate him.
After steadily building him up as a threat, have Oba Femi emerge victorious in the earliest Royal Rumble and lead him to WrestleMania glory. After that, he’s become a made man and a proven contender. But considering how many people have already chosen to play as Oba in WWE 2K25, he may already be a made man.
