Oasis paid tribute to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota as the Gallagher brothers were reunited on stage for the first time in 16 years.
Noel and Liam Gallagher stood side by side on the stage at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium during an emotional reunion as they began their long-awaited worldwide reunion tour.
Thousands of fans had been desperate to hear the brothers perform hits such as Cigarettes and Alcohol, Some Might Say and Morning Glory for the best part of the 21st Century.
During the final bars of Live Forever a picture of Jota, who died in a car accident on Thursday, was displayed, with the crowd cheering and applauding the gesture.

Tens of thousands of fans descended on Cardiff ahead of the gig, with the stadium able to host 74,500 people.
On Friday afternoon, every pub and bar along St Mary’s Street in the Welsh capital was filled with people waiting for the concert to start, with the majority wearing the Britpop band’s merchandise.
Before Oasis stepped out for their first performance since their dramatic split in 2009 following a backstage brawl in Paris, rock band Cast also paid tribute to Jota.
Cast, who were the first support act for Oasis’s comeback gig, dedicated one of their songs to the Portuguese player.
The band, who are from Liverpool, played Walkaway for the 28-year-old forward, saying: "Take it easy, brother."
The world of football is in mourning following the shock deaths of the Liverpool star and his brother since the car crash in Spain.
Jota, 28, and André Silva, 26, lost their lives in the crash in Zamora near Spain’s north-west border with Portugal just after midnight on Thursday.
The brothers were driving in a Lamborghini when a tyre is believed to have blown out while overtaking, causing the supercar to come off the road, crash and then burst into flames.
The tragedy took place just 11 days after Jota married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso.
