Oakland’s Ramón Laureano started one of greatest double plays ever with HR-robbing catch

This might be one the of the best double plays I’ve ever seen, and I’m really not overstating things because it was a thing of stunning beauty.

What I’m talking about is a moment in the Toronto Blue Jays-Oakland A’s game on Sunday. It started with A’s centerfielder Ramón Laureano, who has quite an arm, racing back to rob Toronto’s Teoscar Hernández of a home run with a stunning catch.

He then threw the ball a mile back to the infield, which sailed over the first baseman’s head.

Toronto’s Justin Smoak then tried to take second base on the throw but got gunned down for your normal 8-2-4 double play.

Seriously, this was bonkers:

MLB fans loved it:
