O2 is DOWN: Mobile network crashes in UK leaving users unable to make calls

It’s one of the most popular mobile networks across the UK, but it appears that O2’s network has crashed this morning.

According to Down Detector, the issues started at around 08:57am GMT, and are affecting users across the UK.

While the reason for the outage remains unclear, several users have reported problems to Down Detector.

Of those who reported issues, 45% said the problem was with their mobile phone, 29% with their mobile internet and 25% with the network.

O2 is yet to officially comment on the issue.

Several worried customers have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

One user said: “HOW IS O2 DOWN AGAIN LIKE SERIOUS.”

Another added: “O2 please stop telling people and businesses that everything is okay and to read your 'handy' tips, and realise your network is down nationwide."
