Nursery worker shares clothes she hates kids wearing - as they make her job a nightmare

If, like many parents, you're in a rush to get your children to nursery in the morning, you probably don't think too much about the clothes you put them in before you bundle them into the car. But one former nursery worker has pleaded with parents to stop putting their little ones in certain pieces of clothing - as it makes their lives hell when the time comes to change the tot's nappy.

Amber Jones revealed in a viral clip that after having worked in a nursery herself, she now knows never to put her own children into clothing including onesies with no zips, tights, and lace-up shoes because she understands how "inconvenient" they are for the hardworking staff.

In a video shared to her @ambsjoness account on TikTok, Amber said: "Things I won't send my kids to daycare in, after working in a daycare."

She then listed pull-up nappies - which she said were only acceptable if the little one is currently toilet training - onesies that don't come with any buttons or zips for easy removal, tights, and lace-up shoes such as Converse.

Amber, who is from Australia, wrote in the caption of the video: "Most inconvenient things."

The former nursery worker didn't share exactly why the clothing items were deemed a pain, but when people asked questions in the comments, others offered an explanation - and it's all to do with changing nappies.

When someone asked what was wrong with kids wearing tights, someone else responded: "They take way too long to remove while changing their nappies, and to put on after. And they're kind of irritating after some time, especially on kids."

Another person said: "Have you ever had a kid with all of these? Pull-ups, tights, dungarees, laced shoes ... what a nightmare of a nappy change! I feel like all parents put all these items on their kid when I worked in childcare, all within the one outfit."

While a third posted: "Never make me change a child who has Converse on!"

It's not just nappy changing that makes the clothes a nightmare, as in the case of tights, others pointed out it's also common for them to slip down when a child is playing.

One person said: "They also slide off a lot when playing. I often see children with tights halfway down their bottom, trying to pull them up."

But not everyone agreed with Amber's opinions, as some people said that they'd been told by nursery workers specifically to put their kids in tights because they're harder for little ones to pull off compared to socks.

Someone claimed: "My daycare thanked me for putting my daughter in tights because they kept losing socks."

And someone else agreed, writing: "I actually like the tights. Keeps them from having cold feet and they can't pull them off like socks."
