Nuggets two-way guard Collin Gillespie out indefinitely after leg fracture, team announces

DENVER — Nuggets two-way guard Collin Gillespie is out indefinitely after suffering a lower left leg fracture, the team announced Saturday.

The Villanova product underwent surgery Friday night in Philadelphia to repair the fracture, which occurred while Gillespie was participating in a pickup basketball game earlier this week, according to a team source.

The fracture is the second significant health setback in the past two years for the two-time Big East Player of the Year, who tore an MCL near the end of the Wildcats’ 2021 season.

It is unclear how the Nuggets will proceed, given that Gillespie is slotted for one of the team’s two two-way contracts.
