KAPURTHALA: A video of a youth, whose face and apparel seem to match the one who was hacked to death in front of cops over an alleged sacrilege attempt at Nizampur gurdwara in Kapurthala district on Sunday, surfaced on Monday. However, Kapurthala SSP H P S Khakh said they were still confirming victim’s identity.
The 19-second video was shot by a woman near Radha Soami Satsang Ghar on Kanjhli Road and she can he heard asking the youth, “Krishna bane ho (have you dressed like Krishna)?” The youth, who has a small trident on his shoulder and something plume-like tied on his forehead, can be seen nodding back. Moments later, he walks away with two carrybags on his shoulder.
Meanwhile, in another video in the evening, gurdwara caretaker Amarjit Singh, who had live-streamed the youth’s confinement to a room in the gurdwara, alleged sacrilege attempt and linked it to the Darbar Sahib incident of Saturday, says the youth was making tea and heating up food for eating when he saw him. He also said that the youth was wearing two jackets stolen from residential portion of the gurdwara compound — something had not mentioned in his live stream.
In another video, while speaking to an official, he can heard complaining that police did not remove its policepost in front of the gurdwara for which he had provided land.
