Nottinghamshire's latest coronavirus breakdown as nearly 900 cases recorded over Christmas

A total of 882 positive cases of Covid-19 have been recorded across Nottinghamshire in the last 48-hours.

The latest data, published by the Government on Saturday, December 26, shows that a further 241 cases have been recorded in the city of Nottingham.

Outside of the city, across the county, a further 641 people tested positive for the virus.

It means there have now been 19,230 positive infections in the city boundary and a further 29,082 across the wider county.

The largest daily increase over the last 48 hours was in Nottingham.

It comes after health bosses issued a plea to the public to avoid confusion over the coronavirus vaccination booking process.

Here is the latest daily breakdown area-by-area:

Ashfield - 4,499 (increase of 130)

Bassetlaw - 4,674 (increase of 52)

Broxtowe - 3,960 (increase of 75)

Gedling - 4,428 (increase of 120)

Mansfield - 3,740 (increase of 87)

Newark and Sherwood - 3,805 (increase of 87)

Nottingham - 19,230 (increase of 241)

Rushcliffe - 3,976 (increase of 90)

New data has shown what percentage of the population has been infected by Covid-19 in each area of Nottinghamshire, with the city recording the highest number in the county.

The data shows that almost six percent of residents in the city have been infected with the virus since the pandemic began.

However, one area's percentage is almost half this figure.

The data is calculated by taking the total number of cases in each area and dividing them by the total population, to find out exactly what proportion of residents have recorded a positive test.
