A Government interactive map has highlighted a number of areas in Nottinghamshire which are once again reporting a high Covid infection rate.

Areas shown in purple on the government's interactive Covid map have higher Covid rates than the national average.

Latest data shows a number of suburbs had high rates as of the seven days leading to November 21. An area's infection rate is the number of cases per 100,000 people.

While a lot of areas in Nottingham city are in blue, showing they are reporting lower rates, neighbourhoods one the outskirts of the city and near the county's border currently grouped in purple.

The area with one of the highest rates is Radcliffe on Trent and Shelford with a rate of 868.6 - there have been 82 cases in that time.

This is eclipsed by Newark on Trent, however, which has an infection rate of 1,012.7 due to 100 cases during the most recent period. Both areas are grouped as dark purple, indicating they have some of the highest rates in the whole of the country.

By contrast, Arboretum, Forest and Trent University reported a rate of just 50.4.

Other areas with higher rates include Bestwood Village, Gamston and Holme Pierrepoint and East Leake.

Meanwhile St Ann's, Lenton and Dunkirk and Radford all have rates below 170 - some of the lowest in Nottinghamshire.
