Nottinghamshire coronavirus data shows where rates are still rising

The latest seven-day rolling coronavirus infection rates have revealed where cases are continuing to increase.

In the seven days to December 27 (the latest available data), Covid-19 cases increased across Nottingham, Rushcliffe, Ashfield and Broxtowe when compared to the week before.

Meanwhile Newark and Sherwood, Gedling, Mansfield and Bassetlaw recorded a slight drop in infection rates compared to the week prior.

Ashfield currently has the highest infection rate with 298.6 cases per 100,000 people.

Coronavirus patient numbers and deaths are also becoming "very concerning" in Nottinghamshire's hospitals, the executive lead for the Clinical Commissioning Group says.

There are now 50% more patients in the county's hospitals than there were in the first wave of the pandemic in April.
