Residents across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are not allowed to socialise indoors with anybody outside of their household or support bubble.
This means that people from different households cannot visit each other indoors for a cup of tea, a chat or even a glass of wine or beer.
The same goes for pubs, bars and restaurants. No one from different households will be able to sit inside these establishments.
However, the rules state you can still socialise with a group of six as long as it is outside in a garden or open, public space.
The same is true for beer gardens - as long as social distancing is adhered to.
The county has been placed on high alert, which means residents cannot mix with different households indoors in order to curb the coronavirus infection rate.
It means mixing between households is banned indoors and in pubs, bars, restaurants, social clubs, casinos and other leisure facilities.
Most cases across the city, where the largest increase has happened, has been in young people between the ages of 20 and 29.
Nottingham's Covid case rate per 100,000 people currently stands at 830 cases, the highest of any area in England.
The data, accurate for the seven days to October 8, is a huge rise on a week earlier when the rate stood at 314.5 per 100,000 people.
Other areas close to Nottingham, including Gedling, Rushcliffe and Broxtowe, have also seen their rates rise to above 200 cases per 100,000 people.
The government states: "You must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place
"You must not socialise in a group of more than 6 outside, including in a garden or other spaces like beaches or parks (other than where specific exemptions apply in law)."
