Nottingham Forest star pokes fun at Wayne Rooney - and himself - in brilliant tweet

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has left Trentside fans in hysterics after he compared himself to Wayne Rooney following a trip to the barbers that went wrong.

The club's official twitter account tweeted a picture of the young central defender sporting his new style in training this morning as Sabri Lamouchi's side prepare for their upcoming Championship clash with Reading.

Forest can strengthen their position amongst the play-off places with a win and, should results go their way, could end the week just six points behind the automatic promotion places.

But one part of Forest's pre-match preparation did not go to plan for Worrall.

The Reds academy graduate joked that after asking for a haircut like that of prime, Manchester United, David Beckham, he left looking like Derby County star Wayne Rooney.

Some fans even thought the picture was edited, with Worrall bearing a striking resemblance to fellow City Ground ace Ben Watson - to which Joe Lolley replied: "Joe Watson".

And as ever, Forest fans were the first to poke fun at the defender with a list of witty jibes:

@SabrisRedmen: Why does your hairline look like the bottom of the Nottingham Forest badge?

@Ady_T22: Was the barber watching Eddie Nketiah arriving at the time?

@VinCatinNS: No-nonsense haircut. Kenny Burns would be proud.

@TheGrandMadness: Wear a hat for the night games yeah? Don't want you catching a cold.
