Nottingham Forest star agrees new long-term contract - report

Matty Cash is reported to have agreed a new long-term contract with Nottingham Forest.

Cash, who joined the Reds’ Academy when he was 17, has shone in a new role under Sabri Lamouchi this season.

Having started life as an attacking midfielder, the 22-year-old has been utilised at right-back as Forest have shown their promotion credentials in the opening months of the campaign.

Lamouchi has them fourth in the table, and The Athletic claim Cash has committed his long-term future to the club after being impressed by the ambitions at the City Ground.

He has made 19 appearances in all competitions under Lamouchi, scoring two goals – coming in 2-1 home defeats to West Bromwich Albion and Hull City.

The report also adds Cash could be in line for an unexpected international call-up with Poland.

He qualifies via his grandmother and it is believed the Polish football association are keen on bringing him into their set up.
