Nottingham Forest receive suspension boost as Millwall clash looms

Nottingham Forest have 10 league matches remaining to try and secure promotion to the Premier League, and they will need as many players as possible available to help the cause.

The Reds are currently in fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship table, eight points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side do have a six-point cushion over Bristol City who are seventh and just outside the play-off spots.

As this weekend marks the start of the final 10 league fixtures of the campaign, it also marks the cut off for the accumulation of yellow cards.

Any player in the Championship who reaches 10 yellow cards before this weekend’s matches finish will receive a two-match ban.

Thankfully, Forest do not have any players who are on the verge of going into double figures for bookings this term, meaning they are not at risk during Friday night’s match against Millwall.

The closest to the unwanted landmark is midfielder Samba Sow, who has picked up eight yellow cards so far this season.

Forest have accumulated 63 yellow cards as a team during the Championship campaign, along with one red which saw Ryan Yates sent off during the goalless draw with Bristol City in November.
