Nottingham Forest pushing 'hard' as new triple transfer link emerges

All of the latest Nottingham Forest headlines brought to you by Nottinghamshire Live on June 25...

Forest 'bidding hard' in transfer battle for £4m-rated left-back

Nottingham Forest have reportedly submitted a bid for Valencia defender Jesus Vazquez but face competition for his signature.

The 19-year-old Spaniard could be being lined up as a possible replacement for Max Lowe, who is going to be involved in Sheffield United's pre-season plans after a loan spell at the City Ground.

According to Spanish outlet COPE (via Sport Witness ), the approach from Steve Cooper's team has not been a subtle declaration of interest over a phone call. They say it has been more of a "hand and fast offer" tactic from staff at the City Ground.

COPE explain that Valencia "urgently need to sell" this summer but have not received any offers for the players they have made available for transfer; Vazquez, however, is drawing transfer interest from Forest and Dutch side Feyenoord despite him making only 15 La Liga appearances, including eight starts.

Reds fans enjoy Derby County chaos after Wayne Rooney decision

Nottingham Forest fans have been enjoying the sight of further issues at Pride Park, following a shock announcement from Derby County manager Wayne Rooney.

The Rams have been suffering financially having been placed in administration in September 2021, although they have overcome a huge hurdle after local businessman David Clowes acquired Pride Park from former chairman Mel Morris as part of a takeover bid.

Now, however, they must begin searching for a new manager after Rooney informed the administrators of his intention to leave Pride Park immediately.

One fan said: "Big respect to WR for sticking it out and giving you guys somethings to feel actually pretty darn OK about last year."

Others were less kind with their words, though. One joked: "So what happens to the statue now??"

Another said: "Maybe on sky they'll just become 'The Club formally known as Wayne Rooney's Derby County'."

Forest 'interested' in wantaway Premier League striker

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a summer transfer move for Everton striker Moise Kean.

The Italian striker spent last season on loan at Juventus as part of a two-year loan, after leaving the Serie A giants for £25.1m in 2019. However, Dušan Vlahović's arrival in January limited his starts for Massimiliano Allegri's side and he managed only six goals in all competitions.

Kean's spell in England has failed to live up to the expectations since moving to Merseyside, scoring only four goals in 39 appearances for the Toffees, and falling behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Everton's main centre-forward.

He spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Paris Saint-German but could now make a return to the Premier League with Forest reportedly interested in the 22-year-old. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Steve Cooper's side and Fulham are interested in signing the striker for their returns to the top flight.

Forest transfer target set to complete move to Millwall

Millwall have reportedly nearly completed the signing of Nottingham Forest transfer target Zian Flemming.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with moves to the City Ground in the past two transfer windows, but no move has materialised despite a series of bids being lodged by Forest and the player himself indicating a desire to join the Reds.

Flemming was also a target for Millwall during that time - they also had a bid rejected - but this summer their pursuit for the Fortuna Sittard man has proven more successful.

According to John Percy of The Telegraph, the young Dutchman is booked in for a medical with the Championship outfit ahead of completing a club record £2m deal.

Whilst Flemming was almost certainly a target for Forest last season, the Reds' promotion to the top-flight means they will now be searching in a different tier of the market.

Forest 'really interested' in Rangers star

Nottingham Forest are one of three Premier League clubs reportedly 'really interested' in bringing Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo back to England this summer.

The London-born Nigeria international has spent the last three years north of the border but has just a year left on his current contract and has apparently 'made it clear' that an extension won't be signed to stay at Ibrox Stadium. Aribo previously played three seasons at Charlton Athletic, helping them to League One promotion before being tempted to Scotland by then-manager Steven Gerrard.

At just 25 years old, Aribo has almost has almost 250 club appearances to his name but has become particularly productive at Rangers in recent seasons. Last campaign, the attack-minded midfielder scored nine goals and assisted another 10 as the Glasgow giants were runners-up in the Europa League final and lifted the Scottish FA Cup.
