Nottingham Forest linked with surprise transfer move for Championship goalkeeper

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a surprise move for QPR goalkeeper Joe Lumley.

The 25-year-old featured against Forest at the start of the season but has lost his place to Seny Dieng since then.

Lumley has since spent time on loan at League One sides Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers and with his contract expiring in the summer, he looks to have no long-term future at QPR.

Alex Crook, of talkSPORT, says Forest are interested in signing him as they prepare to complete a deal for Brighton striker Glenn Murray.

A move for Lumley would be seen as a surprise considering Brice Samba is established as first choice keeper with Jordan Smith seen as a reliable back-up.

Forest also have Abdoulaye Diallo on the books, but the Senegal international is yet to make a single appearance for the club.

Lumley has spent his entire career at QPR, making 81 appearances in total.

Last season he played 28 Championship games, while in 2018/19 he played 46 games in all competitions.
