Nottingham Forest issue Harry Arter update in Steve Cook transfer statement

Nottingham Forest have announced that Harry Arter has returned from a season-long loan spell at Charlton.

The former Bournemouth midfielder had been at the Addicks after failing to command a regular place in the starting 11 at the City Ground.

But he has made just six appearances for the League One side and last played in Football League trophy clash against Aston Villa which Charlton won 2-1.

Forest's Arter has been struggling with a hamstring problem during his time at the Valley.

But in a statement confirming Steve Cook's arrival from Bournemouth, the Reds announced he had returned.

"Forest can also confirm that midfielder Harry Arter has returned to the club following a loan spell in League One with Charlton Athletic. The 32-year-old featured five times for The Addicks during his time at The Valley."

Arter was one of a group of players told they had no future at the City Ground in the summer and the midfielder had been due to spend the campaign at Charlton where he started his career.

“I’ve always had that feeling of wanting to prove people wrong when I’ve been back to Charlton,” he previously said.

“But now hopefully I can prove people right – they wanted me to come back, which I’m really thankful for, and I can’t wait to get started and fulfil what I always wanted to do when I was a young kid, and that was to be a first-team player at Charlton.”
