Nottingham Forest issue City Ground weather update ahead of Derby County meeting

Nottingham Forest have issued a weather update ahead of Saturday’s East Midlands showdown with Derby County.

Concern had been raised among supporters owing to dramatic weather conditions in the region throughout the last few hours, with river levels increasing and some parts suffering from flooding.

Forest say that at this stage, there is no planned pitch inspection and that the City Ground playing surface remains in good condition, having seen the previous home game against Reading called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

“Preparations for Nottingham Forest's home game against Derby County on Saturday are going well and the pitch is currently in a good condition,” the Reds said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

“The club are aware of the weather conditions in some areas and that supporters will be travelling from around the country to make the trip to The City Ground and will communicate the very latest information as and when it is available.

“There is currently no pitch inspection planned and supporters are still advised to arrive as early as possible to prevent long matchday queues.”
