Nottingham Forest handed Cardiff City boost with hosts missing these two key players

Cardiff City will be without Albert Adomah for tonight's clash with Nottingham Forest, leaving Neil Harris with a selection headache.

Adomah joined the Bluebirds on loan until the end of the season in January and has started the last four matches for his new club in which they have won two, drawn one and lost the other.

That run has propelled them up to tenth place and they are just six points behind Forest in fifth.

But Adomah won't be able to play for Cardiff tonight as per the terms in his agreement when he moved away from the City Ground on transfer deadline day.

Adomah's ineligibility is only half the problem for Harris, though, with the former Forest striker also without Lee Tomlin.

The former Forest playmaker missed the 2-0 defeat to Stoke City last time out and has been sidelined for around eight weeks because of a knee injury sustained in training.

Tomlin had been a key part of the seven-match unbeaten run after the 6-1 hammering at Queen's Park Rangers on New Year's Day.

He had scored three times and set up another as Cardiff moved from 12th up to 10th and kept pace with the play-off chasers.

So Tomlin and Adomah's absences tonight could swing the match in Forest's favour before the game has even begun.

Adomah joined Forest in the summer following his release from Aston Villa.

He made 24 appearances in the League, but only started five times owing to the form of Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi on the wings.

The 32-year-old signed a two-year deal upon his arrival on Trentside and is out of contract next summer.
