Nottingham Forest 'embarrassing' at Arsenal as pundits make Steve Cooper claim

It is fair to say Nottingham Forest's start to the Premier League season following a 23-year absence has got everybody talking.

Forest have endured a difficult return to the English top flight, having suffered eight defeats in 13 games. The most recent of those being at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal on Sunday as they slumped to a 5-0 loss.

Steve Cooper's side remain rock bottom of the league but potentially only a win away from safety, depending on other teams' results in and around the relegation zone. Speaking on the Football Daily podcast, former Premier League players Nigel Reo-Coker and Neil Taylor delivered their thoughts on Forest's season so far.

"It was an embarrassing performance by Forest," Reo-Coker began as he discussed the defeat at Arsenal. "They really looked like a bunch of individuals and there was not one element of team work I saw throughout that game."

Meanwhile former Aston Villa defender, Taylor added: "When tough times come, you look around the dressing room and you don't know enough about your team mates. You don't know how well you are all going to stick together and the group just is not tight.

"A month will go by really quickly in the Premier League and you haven't won - and it can spiral a little. A side has to have a DNA and that is built in a promotion campaign.

"Cooper looks like he's got a brand new team - because he has - and he has to go back to basics on the training ground - of just trying to get a clean sheet."
