Nottingham Forest confirm transfer deal

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Nicholas Ioannou.

The former Manchester United academy defender moves to the City Ground on a permanent deal from APOEL.

Forest confirmed his arrival in a statement.

"Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the signing of defender Nicholas Ioannou on a permanent deal," it read.

"The 24-year-old moves to The City Ground from Cypriot side APOEL for an undisclosed fee.

"Ioannou, a left back who can also play at centre back, came through Manchester United’s academy, joining The Red Devils aged 11, but departed for APOEL in 2014. He went on to win five league titles and the Cypriot Cup, being named the Young Player of the Season in 2016-17. He featured close to 100 times for the club, including 20 times in the Champions League and Europa League.

"A full Cypriot international, appearing 19 times for his country, Ioannou now moves to The City Ground to team up with The Reds."
