A man in his 50s is fighting for his life after a stabbing in Notting Hill.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) just after 5:30am on Wednesday to reports of a man being stabbed at the Brunel Estate off Westbourne Park Road.

A man, aged in his 50s, was found suffering from a life-threatening stab wound to the stomach.

The injured man was helped by a bus driver who stayed with him until the emergency services arrived.

The victim was not stabbed on a bus.

He was taken by the LAS to a central London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.

Enquiries continue to establish the precise location where the incident took place.

There have been no arrests, the Met Police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 999/22APR, Tweet @MetCC or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
