'Nothing silly now please' Leeds United fans react to big money Helder Costa signing

Twitter went into meltdown as Leeds United fans reacted to the signing of Helder Costa from Wolves.

Eagle-eyed social media users predicted it was coming after the club’s official channels teased the signing by showing the director of football Victor Orta drinking from a Costa Coffee cup in an Instagram story.

The club also cheekily used Costa Coffee being delivered in a Twitter video as the club announced a new partnership with takeaway service Deliveroo.

It was no surprise then, when a little while later the club made it official.

“Helder Costa has today joined Leeds United from Wolverhampton Wanderers on an initial one year loan deal,” announced the club a little while later. “Which will become a permanent transfer next summer for an undisclosed fee.”

Here’s how fans reacted as the afternoon progressed. It was mainly positive, with supporters hoping there will be no players heading in the other direction any time soon - and a lot of praise for the club's marketing department!
