More frequently, however, they're utilized to highlight hair, either by completely covering heads or serving as an elastic-free way of securing ponytails.

Arguably known just as much for its boldly designed scarves as its beloved Birkin bags, the former are less expensive, usually running between $285 to $770. A real deal considering Birkins carry price tags of thousands upon thousands of dollars. The French fashion house isn't the only designer brand in the mix. Louis Vuitton's hot-air balloon scarf is a personal favorite. Gucci's another strong contender, especially if you're a fan of florals. Etro is all over paisley prints, while Missoni's iconic zigzags really make its entry pop.
