'Nothing imminent' - Michael Beale in Rangers transfer admission

Michael Beale has warned no Rangers transfer business is expected imminently as he offered a positive verdict on summer deals to date.

The Ibrox boss has added Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers, Dujon Sterling and Leon Balogun to his squad in the off-season.

And while he is hopeful of landing a couple more incomings, Beale warned fans to be patient as work continues behind the scenes.

Beale revealed a pre-contract has been signed by Jose Cifuentes with the club discussing a possible summer move from LAFC.

And discussions are ongoing with Feyenoord over Brazilian forward Danilo, however, reports in the Netherlands claim a third bid has been knocked back.

Despite the two players attracting huge speculation, Beale insisted Rangers are also looking at alternatives.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Well, there's a lot of speculation around one or two names and I don't know why that's gathered so much pace, because I think they're a little way off just yet, and they're not the only names we're looking at.

"I think as our squad we spoke about wanting it to be tighter and we think there's a lot of competition for places. But with that one or two players naturally will want some guarantees to play regularly.

"So I think there will be some change and the one or two names out there, they're very good players. But there's nothing imminent today if you like."

On business done so far, Beale added: "We did our work swiftly over the summer, we've got some new faces in and the squad is shaping up really well. We're really pleased with how the summer work has gone."
