'Not practicing what they are preaching' Good Morning Britain accused of breaking social distancing rules

Good Morning Britain viewers were left raging and accused the show of breaking the rules after one crew member appeared to ignore the government's social distancing measures.

Eagle-eyed watchers spotted someone breaking the strict rules during an interview with actor James McAvoy.

Ironically, James appeared on the show to talk about donating £275,000 to a crowdfunding campaign to buy protective equipment for the front-line NHS staff.

Presenter Piers Morgan also spent the morning shaming people such as MP Stephen Kinnock for not following the social distancing rules.

A Good Morning Britain assistant was spotted handing a piece of paper to Piers Morgan (ITV)

So GMB fans were shocked to see the show's crew not following the same guidelines.

After the staff member was seen running in between Piers and Lorraine to hand Piers a piece of paper, viewers took to Twitter to shame the assistant and hosts.

One said: "You are doing a lot of good work @piersmorgan. But please, social distancing on set. Did that assistant have to hand that piece of paper next to you? Could it not have been collected or sent electronically?"

Another wrote: "So the chap that dropped off the paper to @piersmorgan wasn’t 2 meters away! You can’t **** @realDonaldTrump when you're just as close in the studio, breathing the same recirculated air... @DrHilaryJones what say you?"

A third said: "Social distancing at its best #GMB."

"Not practicing what they are preaching" ranted another viewer.

"So the guy that just placed the notes on Piers desk thinking he was off camera kept his 2 metres distance! What a load of ********."

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV at 6am.
