North Belfast: Alleged Ardoyne shooting condemned as 'reckless and cowardly'

An alleged shooting at a family home in North Belfast on Monday night has been condemned as a 'reckless attack'.

Sinn Fein Councillor Ryan Murphy said the alleged shooting took place at a property in Cranbrook Court area of Ardoyne on July 20.

The local representative said shots were fired into the home of a local woman and a young child.

Police have not provided any details on an attack at this stage.

Speaking after the alleged incident, Murphy said: “This was a particularly reckless attack on a home in Ardoyne tonight.

“Thankfully no one has been injured in this cowardly attack but we could have been looking at a real tragedy here.

“Local people are shocked and disgusted by this shooting.

“I condemn those responsible unreservedly and urge anyone with information on this shooting to bring it forward to the police.”
