North Ayrshire pub closes as team member tests positive for Covid

A North Ayrshire pub has closed this afternoon after a 'team member' tested positive for Covid.

The Brae in Dreghorn will shut temporarily ahead of what was set to be a busy weekend.

The news comes after Ayrshire Live reported earlier that The Growler in Ayr has closed as a precaution due to staff self-isolating.

A number of hospitality venues in Ayrshire have had to pull the shutters down as a result of the impact of rising case numbers.

A post on The Brae's Facebook page reads: "Unfortunately one of our team members has tested positive for Covid.

"At the moment we are taking the precaution to close for the safety of all our fabulous customers and staff.

"If you have a booking with us over the weekend and have not yet been informed we apologise sincerely.

"We are waiting to hear from track and trace to see how we should proceed.

"We wish them a full and speedy recovery and as always stay safe."
