North Ayrshire Council launch meal and activities programme for Easter break

North Ayrshire Council’s holiday school meals and activities programme is back for the Easter break, running until Friday, April 12.

Activities will take place from 11.30am to 12.30pm each day, with lunch being served from 12.30pm to 1pm. All meals and activities are free and registration is not required.

Schools taking part in the initiative are Dreghorn Primary, Elderbank Primary in Irvine and Hayocks Primary in Stevenston.

There are also sessions at Fullarton Community Hub in Irvine, The Playz in Kilwinning, Vineburgh Community Centre in Irvine and Woodwynd Community Centre in Kilwinning. Contact the centres for times.

Pupils from all of North Ayrshire’s primary schools are welcome at any of the venues.

Councillor Jim Montgomerie said: “Our holiday school meals initiative continues to go from strength to strength, ensuring that young people have access to nutritious food throughout the year.

“Holiday hunger remains a real issue across Scotland and the UK but this initiative has had an extremely positive impact on our young people so far, something which we are very proud of.”
