Noni Madueke drops Chelsea transfer hint in Mykhailo Mudryk message as Todd Boehly eyes £40m bid

Noni Madueke has hinted that he could be open to joining Chelsea in the January transfer window. The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month as Todd Boehly looks to further bolster the Blues' frontline.

The west Londoners are in talks with PSV Eindhoven over a deal to sign the winger, football.london understands. Madueke, who left Tottenham in 2018 to sign for Dutch side, has featured nine times for Ruud van Nistelrooy's side this season, directly contributing towards two goals.

Despite an injury-ridden campaign, his impressive displays have courted the attention of Europe's biggest clubs with his stock continuing to rise. While Chelsea are eager to bring Madueke to Stamford Bridge, football.london understand that PSV are adamant they do not want to sell the England youth international this month after selling Cody Gakpo to Liverpool.

However, it's said that the Dutch side would cash in on the youngster for around €45million (£40m). Chelsea are in talks with PSV over a potential deal which could see the club welcome a fifth player to Cobham this month – with new technical director Christopher Vivell pushing for the move, football.london has been told.

Madueke was believed to be on RB Leipzig's radar when Vivell was working for the German club. Now, the interest has carried over to Chelsea and he is keen to wrap up a deal to sign the former Spurs man.

It remains to be seen whether the Englishman will complete a move to west London in January but, if his social media activity is to be believed, he seems to be keen. On Instagram, a Blues fan – @alexgoldberg._ – posted an image of Madueke with a caption which read: "Listen, I know we lack midfielders and a backup RB badly, but Noni had 7 more chances created today. We gotta make sure his future is with us. I need this demon on the right opposite Mudryk on the left."

Madueke had played a key role in PSV's 2-2 draw against Fortuna Sittard. Having impressed, he led his side to fourth place in the Eredivisie – level with Ajax in third and only four points from table-toppers Feyenoord.

The former Spurs winger 'liked' the Chelsea fan's Instagram post, suggesting that he may agree with what was said in the caption. Though, of course, it must be said that Madueke may have just simply 'liked' the picture without seeing the contents of the caption below.

PSV boss van Nistelrooy has confirmed that there is interest in his player and insisted that he does not want to lose him. But, the former Manchester United striker did concede that if the right offer was made then it's out of his hands.

"I know there is interest," Van Nistelrooy said. "But as a coach you would rather keep your best players. Situations can arise where clubs come in with an offer than cannot be stopped."
