NOIDA: Two youths were arrested after they allegedly tried to loot a jewellery shop at Sector-16 in Vasundhara on Friday. Police said the duo went to the shop and asked the staffers to show gold ornaments. When they were being shown the jewellery items, the duo took the staffers hostage after taking out toy guns, a police officer said.
“When the staffers and the owner of the shop tried to overpower them, the accused fled towards Shalimar Garden. Police checked the CCTV footage and tracked their bike. Both the accused, Archit Sethi (19) and Tarun Bhardwaj (19), are from Shalimar Garden in Sahibabad. A police team later arrested them from their houses,” an officer said.
