Noida International Airport begins commercial operations; first IndiGo flight from Lucknow to land at Jewar airport

Noida International Airport commercial flights have officially started, marking a historic moment for Uttar Pradesh's aviation sector. The long-awaited Jewar Airport welcomed its first scheduled IndiGo flight on June 15, bringing the state's biggest greenfield airport project into commercial operation.

The first scheduled IndiGo flight, 6E-2278, arrived at the airport from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. After its arrival in Jewar, the flight continued onward to Bengaluru, where it was scheduled to land at 11:05 am.

In a symbolic gesture, around 170 farmers from the Jewar region, including 20 women, were scheduled to travel on a special inaugural flight to Lucknow. These farmers had voluntarily contributed their ancestral land for the airport project. Led by local MLA Dhirendra Singh, the delegation is set to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and express gratitude for the development initiatives that brought the airport to reality.
