No, Le’Veon Bell’s Twitter profile isn’t a hint that he’s going to the Jets

Le’Veon Bell has been teasing his free-agency decision for much of Tuesday morning. Both Antonio Bryant and American Ninja Warrior host Akbar Gbajabiamila ‏implied on Twitter that Bell had reached his decision.

This understandably had NFL fans looking for clues — any clues! — about where the former Steelers running back will end up. That brought us to this ultimate stretch.

Some users noticed that Bell’s Twitter profile had a green color setting. Green. As in the primary color of the New York Jets. It must have been a sign. But no, his Twitter profile has nothing to do with his decision, and it’s not a hint about the Jets.

While it was a commendable effort at detective work from NFL Twitter, Bell’s Twitter profile had been green for nearly a year.

This was a screenshot of his Twitter profile that I captured back in September when he liked a tweet about his potential last play with the Steelers.

As you can see, the profile setting was green at that time. He didn’t just switch it to green to tease a signing with the Jets. The green setting probably has more to do with Michigan State than anything.

It’s been that way for months and possibly years.
