Kerala Electricity Minister Sunny Joseph on Saturday rejected CPI(M) allegations that AI was used to prepare the White Paper tabled by the UDF in the Assembly about the state's financial health, claiming that it was made using "human intelligence".
Joseph, at a press conference here, contended that the opposition was unable to prove in the House that the averments and figures in the White Paper were factually incorrect and that is why they are coming with the claim that it was prepared using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
"Who is going to believe that? It was prepared using human intelligence. The records were examined and the Assembly was told about the financial situation of the state and there was no reply to it from the opposition. They could not even question it," the minister claimed.
His statement came a day after senior CPI(M) leader T M Thomas Isaac had alleged that the White Paper was prepared using AI tools.
Isaac had claimed that sensitive records of the Finance Department may have been analysed using AI platforms during the preparation of the document.
The former finance minister had also questioned how a 195-page document containing detailed technical and financial information could have been prepared in less than a week.
According to him, such a task would have required the analysis of large volumes of government financial records using AI tools.
He had said that the existing guidelines and legal obligations do not permit the use of confidential financial documents on AI platforms.
The CPI(M) leader had sought a clarification from the government on whether AI was used to analyse the records and prepare the document.
