MUZAFFARPUR: Firebrand BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Sunday said Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has gone on singing paeans in favour of the BJP in a bid to blackmail his alliance partner Lalu Prasad but sadly this trick won’t work anymore as the doors of the party have been shut for him.
"Ruthe-ruthe sanam tujhko manaun kaise (How can I convince you, my angry lover)," Nitish seems like singing these days quite often but sadly "hamare darwaje band ho chuke hain’ (our doors have been shut now)," Union minister for rural development Singh said, addressing a BJP hererally which was attended by Union home minister Samit Shah.
Singh said Nitish apparently has been heaping praise on the BJP in a bid to blackmail his partner in his style. "Lalu ko kahte-rahte hain ki tang karenge to main maike chali jaungi (I will go back to my old partner, the BJP, if you harass me) but his idea won’t work anymore," Singh who represents Begusarai seat in the Lok Sabha said, inviting laughter from the crowd whom he asked to assure then BJP emerges victorious in both 2024 LS and 2025 assembly elections.
These remarks come amid Nitish openly admitting the old personal relations he enjoys with several BJP leaders even though he has joined the Grand Alliance. He had made these remarks in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu while attending the convocation ceremony of then Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari last month. He also has been found routinely praising the previous AB Vajpayee government.
State BJP president Samrat Choudhary said the party made Nitish CM five times in the past but "wo bhagate chale gaye (he kept on switching sides)." Charging the CM with making the people "drunkard", Choudhary said the home delivery of liquor is just a phone call away in the state right now.
Union minister of state for home affairs Nityanand Rai said the Narendra Modi government has reduced poverty while the previous government only increased it despite big slogans. He alleged an atmosphere of panic has gripped the state and students have stopped attending schools due to serious law and order problems.
Stating the present state government hates development, former state president Sanjay Jaiswal said Nitish Kumar only dreams about becoming the PM.
Another former party president Mangal Pandey alleged the formation of “Chacha-Bhatija” government has brought development works to a standstill while criminals were calling the shots. Opposition leader Vijay Kumar Sinha said the state is currently in the grip of “dengue and dons”.
