Nigeria XI vs Uganda: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, injury latest for AFCON 2025

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle will be tempted to twist rather than stick against Uganda, with a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations knockout stage secured ahead.

With Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Semi Ajayi and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali all one booking away from missing the last-16 tie, Chelle could make a raft of changes.

Lookman has scored in both AFCON games so far, so resting him could be the obvious option. Samuel Chukwueze will be pushing for a return to the starting line-up after being overlooked for Frank Onyeka last time out.

Paul Onuachu is an option should Osimhen come out. Zaidu Sanusi could come back in at full-back as Bruno Onyemaehi makes way.

There are calls for goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to be rested after a shaky display at the weekend, with Francis Uzoho first in line.

Ryan Alebiosu, Muhammed Usman and Tochukwu Nnadi will hope this dead-rubber affords them a first senior cap.

Nigeria predicted XI: Nwabali; Sanusi, Bassey, Ajayi, Osayi-Samuel; Ndidi, Iwobi, Onyeka, Chukwueze; Onuachu, Adams

Injured: None

At risk of suspension: Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Semi Ajayi and Stanley Nwabali
