Nicole Scherzinger shares thoughts on Pussycat Dolls reunion after cancelled tour

Nicole Scherzinger has given her verdict on a potential reunion with the former members of her band, The Pussycat Dolls.

The girl group was founded in 2003 and enjoyed global fame with chart-topping tracks like Buttons, Don’t Cha, Stickwitu, Jai Ho, and When I Grow Up before splitting in 2010.

The American band reunited in 2019 and made plans to go on tour - although this was scrapped in 2022 due to concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now, Scherzinger has revealed she wouldn’t rule out reuniting with the Dolls in the future, admitting she’s a “what’s next?” kind of person.

“Who knows, I might one day be with the Dolls again,” she told People on Thursday.

The musician confessed she’s been thinking about her next career move after her stint on Broadway for Sunset Blvd wraps in July.

She explained: “I definitely am the ‘What’s next?’ girl.’ I’ve always been that way. Even with the Dolls, when we were having a hit, I was like, ‘What's the next hit? I need to get back in the studio!’”

“But I am trying to really live in this moment.”

Scherzinger was similarly open-minded about a reunion last summer.

“I love my Dolls. I love the Pussycat Dolls. So, I always say never say never,” she told the Daily Mail.

“I see them [her former bandmates]. I love keeping up with them on their Instagrams, and everybody is just thriving and looking good while they’re doing it.”

The Pussycat Dolls was made up of Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, and Kimberly Wyatt.

In October, Scherzinger said her Broadway debut playing the failing Hollywood star Norma Desmond “was God’s divine plan for me all along”.

She won an Olivier award for best actress in a musical for her role as Norma in a West End production of Sunset Blvd.

The reimagined musical then moved to Broadway and earned Scherzinger a Tony nomination.

Discussing her opening night in New York in October, she wrote on Instagram: “I believe God has a plan for all of us — a plan and a purpose. I believe you just have to listen to the whispers of your heart and trust him.

“I see now that this show, and telling Norma’s story, was God’s divine plan for me all along. There was a purpose behind all the patience, pain, and pushbacks that have been scattered amongst the beauty of my life so far.

“Tonight I fulfil my childhood dream.”
