Nicolas Raskin Rangers medical 'complete' as Michael Beale transfer admission in contrast

Nicolas Raskin has reportedly 'completed' a medical at Rangers according to media in his homeland.

The Belgian midfielder was been wanting away from club Standard Liege in the summer after the 21-year-old seemingly fell out with the club's hierarchy with former Celtic boss Ronny Deila caught in the crossfire. Raskin was a target for Rangers under Gio Van Bronckhorst but a move for the youngster never materialised in the summer.

Now it appears Michael Beale has set his sights on the midfielder, having alluded to him being a 'good player' earlier on Friday. According to Le Soir a medical at Rangers has been passed but conflicting reports in Scotland say otherwise. The report also stated Raskin could be announced as early as Saturday.

Yet this flies in the face of Beale himself who said the club were looking to do business in the coming days but that nothing was confirmed, despite admitting interest in the kid.

He said: “Another good player [Raskin] one that I remember from the time we played Standard Liege. He missed the first game the night Kemar Roofe scored that amazing goal but he played the second leg.

"He’s a player I’m aware of, a very good player who is out of contract in the summer. One that has attracted a lot of attention. There’s an interest from us but I’m sure there is from a number of clubs."
