Nicolas Raskin makes Hampden vow as Rangers gear up for Celtic clash

NICOLAS RASKIN has declared himself ready and raring to go as he targets the first silverware of his Rangers career at Hampden.

The midfielder has made an immediate impact at Ibrox following his deadline day move from Standard Liege as boss Michael Beale landed one of his main transfer targets on a long term deal.

Raskin followed up a cameo against Ross County and start in the win over Partick Thistle with another accomplished showing on Saturday as Rangers overcame Livingston in a comfortable Premiership fixture.

Captain James Tavernier netted twice before Kemar Roofe rounded off an impressive victory to ensure Beale's side extended their unbeaten run and maintained their momentum heading into the Viaplay Cup final next Sunday.

The Hampden showdown will be a first Old Firm experience for Raskin and he is in line to start on derby day as Beale sweats over the fitness of John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Malik Tillman on the eve of the Celtic clash.

Raskin had gone several weeks without pulling on his boots before a debut against the Staggies a fortnight ago and he is confident there is plenty more to come this term as he bids to become a quickfire hero to the Ibrox crowd.

Raskin said: "Of course I feel ready. I think the boys are coming back for the cup final but yeah I'm ready.

"I like to play in big games like that. I like to play with pressure. I'm very excited about that game.

"Oh I think just give me one month and I'll be totally fit physically.

"When you arrive into a team, you need time to know the principles of the team but hopefully I can grow and be a better player than I'm showing now.

"I'm very excited to play against Celtic in this cup final because in football you only remember trophies. I'm here to win trophies so I can't wait.

"I've spoken to the guys and they all say it's going to be crazy, something I've never seen before. So I'm really excited to see this atmosphere and see what it's like to play in it."
