Nicola Sturgeon has promised that hairdressers in Scotland will reopen "as quickly as possible" .
Speaking to the Covid-19 committee at Holyrood, the First Minister was asked by SNP MSP Annabelle Ewing when people will be able to get haircuts again as plans continue to be laid out for the easing of lockdown measures.
Ms Sturgeon did not give a specific date for when hairdressers would reopen, but gave her "100% assurance" it would not be delayed any longer than necessary, the Daily Record reports.
Ms Ewing asked: "When can we go to the hairdresser, if you're not able to give us a specific date this morning, are you able to indicate a date that we might be able to go to the hairdresser."
In response, the First Minister said: "I'm not going to give a date.
"I can give you an absolute 100% assurance that I will not delay our ability to visit the hairdresser any longer that is necessary.
"I'm saying that out of pure self interest because anybody looking at me can see.
"There are still conspiracy theories that circulate on social media from time-to-time that I've got a secret hairdresser somewhere.
"That's not true, but secondly I don't know how anybody looking at me right now can reach that conclusion.
"No hairdresser can take responsibility for this - so hairdressers just as quickly as is possible to do."
