Lanarkshire sides Albion Rovers, Clyde, Airdrie, Hamilton and Motherwell will all be boosted by this news but the Fir Park side are likely to apply for higher attendances for some fixtures.
The news will come as a boost to clubs lower down the pyramid, with average attendances of less than 5,000, but for bigger clubs, the future remains uncertain.
It's unlikely that clubs will receive permission to be at full capacity and Sturgeon eluded to this during her address this afternoon.
The first minister revealed that the Scottish government is debating whether to implement vaccine passports for larger scale and higher-risk events.
