It looks like Nick Ward may be staying in the United States to start his professional basketball career.
After playing with the Atlanta Hawks in NBA Summer League, Ward will participate in the G-League Invitations, which starts this Friday in Chicago. He is one of 50 players invited to play in the annual event.
According to the G League, “This event will challenge NBA G League hopefuls, vying to receive a contract for the NBA G League Draft in October, to showcase their skills via full-court games for NBA G League player personnel, executives, coaches and industry scouts.”
It’s a great opportunity for Ward to showcase his game against other potential G-League players. I’d consider it a step down from the NBA Summer League, because in Vegas there are a number of NBA players participating. Ward did well in Vegas, so it stands to reason he’d do well here as well.
