Nick Walsh named Rangers and Celtic referee as he's handed derby reins for first time

Nick Walsh has been appointed to take charge of the Rangers and Celtic clash this weekend.

The whistler will take charge of the clash for the first time in the final Premiership meeting between the Glasgow rivals.

Alan Mulvanny and Calum Spence will act as lineman with Willie Column taking on the role of fourth official at Ibrox.

Veteran referee Bobby Madden has oversaw the last two derby day clashes between the side but the SFA have opted for a fresh set of eyes on the clash.

Walsh last oversaw a Rangers game during Steven Gerrard side’s 4-1 win over Dundee United, when he awarded a penalty which was missed by Borna Barisic.

The last Celtic game in which he was the man in the middle was the 2-1 win over Motherwell in Parkhead.
