Nick Cannon revealed as Jamie Foxx Beat Shazam replacement as actor remains in hospital

Nick Cannon has been named as the temporary host of Beat Shazam following the news Jamie Foxx is still in hospital with a mysterious condition - and received the actor's blessing.

Presenter Nick will now take over in the hot seat for the immediate future on the popular FOX gameshow which sees hopefuls try to guess songs from their lyrics.

Jamie's daughter, Corinne, will also remain absent while her dad is hospitalised with Kelly Osbourne to take over her DJ'ing duties.

Jamie took to Instagram on Wednesday to say he "appreciates" Nick stepping in for him and thanked both Nick and Kelly for doing so.

Kelly, who is the daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and presenter Sharon Osbourne, posting a snap to social media on Wednesday which showed her behind the DJ booth of the set.

Reality TV star-turned-singer Kelly, 38, took to Instagram to also share a video from the set which featured an emcee in the background who was trying to work the crowd up for Nick.

The replacement news comes three weeks after actor Jamie collapsed on the set of his upcoming movie.

The actor has remained in hospital since the April 11 incident which was described as a "serious medical complication", according to a source.

Now, the White House Down star's pal Charles Alston has asked his fans for prayers for the actor in an emotional Instagram message.

In the post, Charles urged everyone to keep Jamie in their thoughts and prayers and said: "We need you back Bro. As I always state a true champion isn't the one that wins, it's the one that meets & overcomes adversity!! You're test becomes your testimony!!"

He added: "We all can't wait to receive you back home to celebrate, laugh with and applaud you!!"

A source has also revealed just how serious Jamie's condition was, claiming it was "touch and go" at first following the medical condition.

"Jamie suffered a serious medical episode and needed immediate attention. It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived — he is very lucky to be alive!"

The source also explained how a team of doctors had more than likely saved his life following their quick thinking.

"He's very lucky he got the treatment he did. Jamie suffers from high blood pressure, which doctors say can cause clots in the brain leading to a stroke.

"Doctors believe this was a long time coming, and really, if they hadn't acted fast, Jamie might well have been a goner," the source told radaronline.
