Nick Bosa turning heads in 49ers camp prior to ankle injury

Former Ohio State linebacker Nick Bosa is now officially out of his walking boot and should be back in time for San Francisco 49ers opening regular-season game.

Bosa didn’t see any snaps in the team’s first preseason performance, a 17-9 victory over Dallas, and will likely be out all four meaningless games.

The 2019 NFL Draft’s second overall selection was impressive prior to suffering a significant ankle injury.

That said, Bosa did compete in the team’s training camp just a few weeks prior to the commencement of the preseason. The 6-foot-4, 21-year-old seems to already be outperforming his expectations.

Per 49ers’ insider and Niners Nation contributor, Rob Lowder, Bosa has lived up to the massive hype that he entered the draft with.

In 29 games at Ohio State, Bosa collected 17.5 sacks and a total of 77 tackles. Combine his on-the-field work and his physical attributes, and the Niners may be looking at one of the best defensive end of the decade.

Ok, it may be way too early to tell if he’s that good, but all signs point to a dominant rookie season on the way for Bosa. As long as he can stay healthy.
