NI Football Awards short-lists revealed ahead of annual dinner

The short-lists for this year's Northern Ireland Football Awards have been revealed.

The gala ceremony will be held at the Crowne Plaza Belfast on Monday night.

On the night fans will find out who has been voted the top manager, player and young player for the 2018/19 season.

NI Football Writers' Association Chairman Keith Bailie said: "This year's NI Football Awards promises to be a spectacular event with the great and the good of our game gathered to celebrate the 2018/19 season.

Ulster Footballer of Year: Linfield talisman Jimmy Callacher wins top award at Titanic ceremony  

"A number of the categories are just too close to call, with three top class nominees, so we can expect plenty of intrigue at the Crowne Plaza."

The full list of awards and nominees:  

Danske Bank Player of the Year: Adam Lecky, Andrew Waterworth, Jimmy Callacher.

Spanish Dream Homes Young Player of the Year:  Ben Doherty, Caolan Marron, Kofi Balmer.

BetMcLean Manager of the Year: David Healy, David Jeffrey, Stephen Baxter.

Meanwhile, the Premiership Team of the Season can be revealed.

Meanwhile, the NIFWA will remember Manchester United and Northern Ireland legend George Best.



Keith added: "On the night, we will also remember Northern Ireland's greatest footballing son, George Best.

"The Manchester United legend will be inducted into the Dr Malcolm Brodie Hall of Fame, in association with Ardtalla Wealth Management."
