NHS worker's inspiring weight loss after dropping 6 stone and 12 dress sizes

A woman's incredible weight loss has seen her slash dress sizes from size 20 down to a size eight.

NHS worker Amy Newall, 31, lost an impressive six and a half stone (91lbs) after attending personal training sessions she found through Facebook.

Amy says her journey has lead to a complete mentality change and has brightened her outlook on life.

She told Hull Live: "They have completely changed my lifestyle, even just my outlook on life.

"I find even when you're feeling stressed or anything like that, that time when you're in the studio you don't think about anything else except exercising and working hard.

"I'm so much more confident now."

Amy signed up for Cottingham-based personal trainer Tom Cowen's classes four years ago after seeing one of his Facebook adverts.

"I went along to one of his bootcamps and I just remember it being one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life," she recalled.

"But, then afterwards I just kept wanting to go back and then I joined in a transformation group.

"Tom then moved his sessions to his new studio in Cottingham, which is quite a trek for me, but I still go four or five times a week.

Amy says she now takes two buses across the city to attend training sessions after her fitness coach moved studios (Hull Live)

"It takes me two buses across the city, but I know how important it is to be consistent.

"It's just part of my life now, it's just my weekly routine."

Throughout her journey, Amy has developed an interest in weight training and enjoys her one-to-one sessions with her trainer.

She also takes part in bootcamps and small group training sessions.

Amy has become a key player at the classes she attends and has used her passion for fitness to pursue a healthier lifestyle - even through difficult times.

Tom said: "Amy has been with me for several years, becoming an integral part of my team.

"She leads from the front, always welcomes newcomers into my team with so much positivity and support.

"Her results are truly inspiring, not only achieving results but constantly pushing her own limits over the last few years, even when she's encountered personal loss.

"Her dad and her grandma would be so proud of her."
