Cincinnati Bengals great A.J. Green announced his retirement from football on Monday, capping off a stellar career that sent the NFL world into appreciation mode.
Green, after all, was one of the greatest receivers of his generation. For Bengals fans, he was an unexpected light that led out of darker times after Carson Palmer’s retirement alongside the likes of Geno Atkins.
For folks like Ravens fans, he was a respected, bitter rival who always seemed to have their number.
