With the International Olympic Committee officially voting to add flag football to the 2028 Summer Olympics on Monday, several of the biggest names in the NFL have already expressed interest in bringing home the gold for the United States. With the idea of the NFL’s biggest stars teaming up to take on opposing countries, some fans found the idea a bit hilarious and expressed themselves with some memes.
It goes without saying that the United States is far ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to American football, so the idea of studs like Justin Jefferson, Micah Parsons and Patrick Mahomes lining up against athletes with little to no professional football experience on the world’s biggest stage is a bit—comical.
Fans jumped at the opportunity to post some memes about the possible matchups when NFL executive vice president Peter O’Reilly told Front Office Sports that “the player interest is real.”
